The blued Beretta 92 full-size 9 mm semi-automatic has proven indispensable to nearly 40 police and military forces worldwide. To this, the Beretta 92G adds a G-Model decocker. It’s an ambidextrous thumb safety pinned just below the sight on the slide and not on the frame as might a M1911. The safety reveals a red dot on either side when set to fire mode.

The 92G is an impressive match-grade accurate gun capable of landing 10-shot groups within 3” at 55 yards. It’s designed around a 15+1 capacity, single-action/double-action utilization in a package measuring 8.5” long, 5.4” tall and 1.5” wide. Unloaded weight is 33.3 ounces, or almost two pounds.

The 92G has a matte black Bruniton finish that’s extremely though. It’s weather, sweat and corrosion resistant.

The barrel has a nice target crown. The gun features a slick open-cut lightening slide that reveals the barrel from just behind the front sight all the way to the breech face/back of the cut-down ejection port. The slide has numerous tightly packed diagonal cocking serrations in back though not in front. The snout has curved beveling that flares out front to back.

The Beretta 92G sight radius spans 6.1” between a white-dot sharks’ fine front sight and a two-dot sight in back. Both are dovetailed permitting easy upgrades with aftermarket parts.

The black trigger is protected by the bow belly trigger guard that also features a mild undercut. The front-face has a concave bow for increased finger feel. Additionally, the trigger guard and trigger are significantly bigger than on the M1911. In contrast, the grip is narrower front to back and lacks a grip safety. Both these facets potentially make the Beretta friendlier to smaller hands.

The reversible magazine release is oversized and can be set to either side of the gun. The gun also has a medium-length beavertail.

The grip is 1.3” wide. It’s flanked by black grips that have diamond checkering that are branded with the famous Beretta rondel logo toward the center.

Interestingly, the right grip panel covers the back of the disassembly latch and the magazine release. And they’re fastened to the frame using stainless steel hex head screws. The frontstrap and curved backstrap are pyramid stippled.

The 92G comes with three (3) 15-round double-stack magazines. The interesting Beretta 92G is made in Gallatin, Tennessee, so it’s Made in USA.
