The 10+1 capacity Nighthawk Tri-Cut is a 9 mm M1911 semi-automatic that’s a fashion statement sculpted in metal. It is F-22 Raptor-like in its angles, edges, faceted surfaces and monochromatic black nitride finish.

Most arms manufacturers stockade their guns with serrations, large stippling and more all around the grip, slide front, etc. In contrast, the Nighthawk Tri-Cut is smoother.

Aesthetics have guided design. The slide’s muzzle end is its most interesting aspect. A pair of dramatically ported front serrations bore deep through each side of the slide, revealing the stainless steel barrel underneath. The back has five shallow grip channels. Beyond that, there is little more than subtle stippling atop the slide, magazine release, under the trigger guard, and along the center of both the front strap and mainspring housing.

Cutting down the number of join lines, this gun eschews a muzzle bushing. Instead the muzzle and slide join directly. At the back end, the Tri-Cut has a classic loop hammer.

Moving on top, the gun has a tritium front sight that’s paired with a Heinie Straight Eight SlantPro rear sight. This rear sight also has a single tritium point at the back. The front tritium and rear tritium points align to make a figure eight, hence the name. Its distinctive ski jump profile ramps down to the front, making it snag-resistant and optimizing it for concealed carry. The sight radius between the two dovetailed sights is 5.76”.

The gun has a solid flat face Nighthawk Custom trigger with light stippling with overtravel adjustment. It’s ringed by the usual nicely curved trigger guard of the same design that’s on many other Nighthawk 1911s.

The G10 grips are tri-cut with a flat surface and two long and wide beveled edges. NIGHTHAWK CUSTOM is engraved vertically in big letters at back on each, but otherwise, the grip panels are smooth.

The Tri-Cut measures 7.85” overall. The match-grade bull barrel is 4.25”, while height, width and slide width are 5.4”, 1.40”, and .92” respectively. Empty weight is 34.7 ounces.

The attractive pistol comes with a 10-round magazine that has counting holes. The Nighthawk Tri-Cut semi-automatic is manufactured in Berryville, Arkansas and thus is Made in USA.
