The Performance Center T/C Long Range Rifle (LRR) lineup spans .243 Win, .308 Win and 6.5 Creedmore across a total of 12 bolt-action precision-fire models. Each of these three calibers has four configurations: black or field dark earth (FDE) and with or without a Vortex Diamondback 4-12x40 scope.

Features include 5R rifling, a threaded, fluted and free-floated barrel that improves accuracy and looks, and a 1.5” long twin-chamber muzzle brake to mitigate felt-recoil. The bolt has three lugs, so not surprisingly, the bolt arm has a 60-degree throw, and, as a nice nod to aesthetics and better grip, the bolt knob is fluted too. Just behind is a two-position safety. Atop the receiver is a medium-length 20 MOA Picatinny accessory rail and a 10-round T/C Performance Center LRR steel detachable box magazine.

Both the handguard and the stock feature M-LOK accessory slots. So, for instance, you can mount a bipod in front. Conveniently, the gun comes standard with a Caldwell XLA Bipod. In back, the skeletonized stock is impressive. Using rotary knobs, both the butt plate and cheek piece are adjustable. The butt has an up to 1.0” length of pull adjustment permitting length of pull to range from 13” to 14”.

Vortex Diamondback 4-12x40 is a good scope. It’s lightweight, made of aluminum alloy, it’s tough and provides crisp imagery thanks to its multi-coated optics and argon purging that makes it waterproof and fog proof. The scope uses a 1” diameter tube, capped turrets for fine adjustments that allow a max of 60 MOA for elevation and a corresponding 60 MOA for windage. The scope is a square 12” long and adds 14.6 ounces to the weights listed below.

Making stuff go boom is an adjustable Performance Center trigger that can be finely tweaked from 2.5 to 3.5 pounds of pull pressure. The textured grip has three finger recesses and nice texturizing on the sides.

Let’s look at the three calibers a bit more closely.

.243 Win models have a 1 to 10” twist ratio. Overall length is 47.5” and the guns weigh 12.0 pounds.

.308 Win models have a 1 to 12” twist. Overall length is 45.5” and the guns weigh 11.6 pounds.

6.5 Creedmore models have a 1 to 8” twist. Overall length is 41.5” and the guns weigh 11.2 pounds.

This gun carries high-performance looks and features at a rather affordable price. T/C is short for Thompson Center Arms. The company is based in Springfield, Massachusetts, and their guns are Made in USA.
